New Jersey is going broke, but no, I do not give a shit that it will cost $28
million to stage a special Senatorial election THREE WEEKS BEFORE the general
election, wherein I will be re-elected for a second term as Governor of New Jersey.
I cannot have my glorious re-election effort be overshadowed by a Senate
race—not if I wanna impress the national GOP. And no, I do not give one whiff
of a shit that people will have to go to the pols and vote twice in a three-week period for both the primary and general election. It’ll be just like
having dessert twice, and you KNOW I fucking endorse that. What I am doing here is not politically
motivated at all. I think democracy is worth a little effort, people.“
