this is bad. The food stamp program was cut and now our profits are falling
because poor people shop here. Twenty percent of our customers rely on food stamp
benefits to survive. Yeah, we mostly sell them cheap shit, often with
questionable nutritional value, but such things are better than going hungry,
aren’t they? The funny thing is a lot of the people who lost food stamp benefits are
our goddam employees! And NO, we
have not taken a position on the proposed federal minimum wage hike (Nod, nod; wink, wink. Know what I mean? Know what
I mean?)”
