Overheard in Germany:

Bernd Osterloh

“You see, by not voting in favor of union representation, the Volkswagen factory in Tennessee now stands in violation of GERMAN law because it does not have a formal mechanism for workers’ representation. It is very possible that the conservatives who stirred up the anti-union sentiments before the Chattanooga vote engaged in unfair labor practices! We do not take these things lightly in Germany! It is NOW very likely that Volkswagen would not expand that facility. And should another VW plant ever be built in the United States, it would likely not be built in the fucking backasswards South. I’m surprised no media asked us about this before the vote. You Americans are so fucking stupid.”

Bernd Osterloh, head of Volkswagen’s works council, whose comments contradict promises and very anti-union warnings offered last week by Sen. Bob Corker
