Tom Rooney

“Those $716 billion in Medicare Advantage reimbursement cuts to private insurers that are hurting seniors in MY DISTRICT are a disgrace, a breach of faith, and damaging to seniors, goddammit! And it’s all the fault of Obamacare and that sonuvabitch President Barack Obama.”

Rep. Tom Rooney (R-Florida), in his weekly commentary to constituents. Rooney incidentally, voted with MOST other Republicans to MAKE THE CUTS PERMANENTin Rep. Paul Ryan’s budget proposals in 2011, 2012 and 2013. Under Ryan’s budget proposals, the cuts were used to cover the cost of tax cuts for  the wealthy and to meet deficit reduction targets.
