Overheard in Washington, D.C.:

Eric Cantor

“Well, we can’t get this goddam Farm Bill through the House with this Food Stamp program bullshit attached to it. So what we’re thinking about doing is separating them. Hell, we don’t have any problem with the farmers. We want that to go through. It’s the poor people who get Food Stamps that we have the problem with. We’re the GOP; we just don’t like needy people. If you can't feed your kids, get a second job at the McDonald's at the OTHER end of the block from where you work now, for cryin’ out loud. Stop relying on the government to feed you. Stand up! Be a man! Be a woman! When your kids are crying at night because they haven’t had enough to eat, give them a piece of plastic or some wax to chew on. It will make them feel as if they’ve eaten. We’re not bad guys. We love everyone!”

Eric Cantor (R-Virginia), Majority Leader for the House, whose personal worth is estimated at between $3.4 and $9.4 million, while he earns $193,400 per year in Congress.
