Overheard on Eric Cantor's Cellphone:

Eric Cantor

“Look, the House of Representatives worked 126 days in 2013. Goddamit, that’s too many. WE'RE NOT SLAVES, YOU KNOW! LINCOLN FREED US, TOO! We’re only going to work 113 days in 2014. That's ONLY about $1,600 per day. WE'RE WORTH IT! Aren't we? OK, OK. Gohmert isn't—but the rest of us are! Right? The fact that so many of us will have mid-term elections in 2014 has absolutely nothing to do with the change, but yes, in 2012 when we also had midterm elections, we did only work 112 days. It’s a mere coincidence. Yes, you are correct, the average worker in the nation is on the job 261 days a year, and if they don’t show up, and don’t do shit, they don’t get paid. Funny how that shit works, isn’t it?”

Majority Whip Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Virginia)
