Overheard in Pennsylvania:

Pat Toomey

“Well, yes, what I truly am saying is that if the court convicts you, you are guilty, and woe be unto the attorney who tries to prove otherwise because we will fuck you up, even if it involves spreading falsehoods, lies and innuendo. As if it would be the first time THAT happened.”

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pennsylvania), credited with engineering the vote torpedoing Justice Department Chief of Civil Rights Division nominee Debo Adegbile because Adegbile had participated peripherally in the effort to overturn the death penalty sentence handed down to convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. The effort was successful and the defendant is in jail for life without possibility of parole.
