“They started letting me have my crayons back.
Every day that I'm good, I get a new color to use. They don’t give me the purple any more,
though. I thought the purple brought out Chuck’s dark blue eyes, so I stuck it
into his ear and slammed it in. I don't know why I did it except that I didn’t want it falling out. Chuck’s OK, though,
he just can’t hear out of his right ear. Sometimes you pay a price for good
art. “

heavily in the politics of fear and maintaining a distance from reality. She is an adult daycare patient at a local "hospital."
