Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-Ohio), explaining why the House GOP will not even
consider a budget proposal from President Obama that includes—as Republicans
have demanded and Democrats have slammed—a proposal to cut entitlement programs,
but would also create new tax revenue, which the Republicans say is a
non-starter. Boehner criticized Obama's compromise offer as a failure to lead.
